I'm participating in a contest at the Micro Model Railroad Cartel Group on Facebook called the "Halt Station Micro Challenge 2021." The challenge is to build an operating micro layout within a footprint of 144 square inches.
I'm creating a simple single track run in On30 with a passenger shelter located on the line. This halt station (whistle/flag stop) is located at Mineshaft, a stop near a lead mine located a short distance away (off layout). Staging tracks (rerailers) will be hidden by a tunnel and the fascia board acting as a hillside view block.
The passenger shelter is scratchbuilt from styrene, balsa wood, and cardstock.
