The snow is starting to fly at the passenger shelter at Mineshaft. The focal feature on my Summit Railway Micro Layout in On30. I painted the backdrop to give a stormy look to the sky, especially in black and white photos. I'm liking the effect.
I cheated with that effect with a photo filter on my camera. It could be replicated with fine flake snow dusted from above, but the photo filter was a lot easier and doesn't make a mess.
Thank you, George. Very much appreciated! After thinking about it, I am going to try using the soft flake snow sifted over the scene while taking a photo. I have an upcoming article for an e-zine in December, and I think I'll try that out to see if I get something interesting.
Very realistic looking Tom in B&W. How did you do the foreground snow flakes in the photo...George
